Inescapable, Book 2

He gave her everything—except the truth.
Nassir Al-Qadir is a prince with empires to command and a past he can't escape. But the woman who haunts his every waking moment is someone he can never have. Someone he's already destroyed once.
When Trina Davis unexpectedly appears in Amsterdam, Nassir sees his chance for redemption. But getting her back means dismantling the lies that hold his world together, and unleashing the ruthless man beneath the royal façade.
Trina came to return what was never hers to keep. She never expected to find a man broken beyond recognition, willing to burn his entire empire just to feel her touch again.
Their love was never supposed to happen a second time.
But when it does, it threatens to consume them both—and destroy everyone caught in the fire.

Secret baby

Instead of coming clean, Trina sat there and spoke more lies. “I already told you. I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

He exhaled roughly through his nose like a stallion. “Drop it, Trina. Enough with the games. We both know you’re pregnant, and I have proof. Why don’t we skip all that and get to the important part. Is this baby you’re carrying mine, or does it belong to Mr. Kissy-face who just drove off?”

Nassir had sat there in the limo, watching with mounting ire as Trina and that loser had a long heartfelt conversation. When that man kissed her, it had taken all his self-control to tear the back door off its hinges, rush across the street and beat the man senseless with it.

Reaching into a cubby in the seat in front of him, Nassir whipped out a printed sonogram picture and placed it onto Trina’s lap. Her name was clearly printed at the bottom of the photo along with a tiny blur with a beating heart at the center.

She gasped, an agonized sound, then looked up at him in agitation. “Where the hell did you get these?”

“Doesn’t matter,” he responded. That was the least concern right now. Nolan had been the source of the sonogram photo which he had obtained through his connection with Trina’s friends. Apparently, her family and close friends knew he was to be a father except him.

He took the offensive, pushing Trina back with his words before she even had a chance to regain her equilibrium. “The only thing I need to know right now is whether or not I am to be a father?”

This question was unnecessary, because according to Nolan’s intel, that’s exactly what he was. But he wanted Trina to tell him herself.

Her mouth twisted convulsively as her brain whirled. He could see on her face that she was frantically debating how to answer. And when she did, her voice was harsh. “Okay fine. Yes, I’m pregnant, and it’s yours.”
